Production tracking system for a furniture factory
We replaced the paper worksheets of a mid-sized custom furniture manufacturer with tablet-based, barcode-driven production tracking — from order to delivery.
The starting point
The only way to know the state of production was to walk the shop floor: worksheets followed products on paper, and schedule slips often surfaced only at the last minute. Sales could not give customers a reliable answer to the simple question, “where is my furniture?”
Our solution
Every workpiece gets a barcode identity, and rugged tablets at the workshop stations run our glove-friendly interface: workers mark the start and end of each production step with a single tap. Managers see order status, bottlenecks and expected delays on a real-time shop floor dashboard. We tested and refined the system on-site together with the workers during the rollout weeks.
The outcome
Production management now gets a full picture of the shop floor in minutes each morning, deadline risks become visible days earlier, and sales can give customers an accurate status instantly. Paper worksheets are gone entirely.
